Iran investigates poisoning of hundreds of schoolgirls<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cPoisoning girls to prevent them from going to school, \u00a0from learning, it \u00a0is a violation of the fundamental rights of these human beings, that these girls are for us. \u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Who are these men who believe they have the right to life and death over girls, women? They are killed for a piece of cloth worn one way and not another. \u00a0These women are banned from everything, from education, from paid work, from any autonomy. \u00a0They \u00a0are just allowed to be a marital slave. \u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Obscurantism is at work in a radical way and appears much deeper than a few years ago in different countries.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

According to BBC Persian, almost 700 girls have been poisoned by toxic gas in Iran since November, in what many believe is a deliberate attempt to force their schools to shut.<\/span><\/p>\n

Grls are being deliberately poisoned\u00a0\u00a0to keep them out of schools, \u00a0according to some officials.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The prosecutor general has opened \u00a0a criminal investigation. \u00a0However, he said that the available information only indicated \u201cthe possibility of criminal and premeditated acts\u201d. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The victims have been hospitalized suffering \u00a0respiratory problems, nausea, dizziness and fatigue. <\/span><\/p>\n

At least 14 schools have been targeted across four cities, including capital Tehran and the northwestern city of Ardebil.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
