{"id":21264,"date":"2024-10-28T19:02:04","date_gmt":"2024-10-28T19:02:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bfwg.org.uk\/bfwg2\/composers-in-spotlight\/"},"modified":"2024-10-28T19:02:04","modified_gmt":"2024-10-28T19:02:04","slug":"composers-in-spotlight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bfwg.org.uk\/bfwg2\/composers-in-spotlight\/","title":{"rendered":"Composers in spotlight"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of the International Day of the Girl, an outstanding conference held by musicologist Ir\u00e8ne Minder-Jeanneret was organized in collaboration with the  CLAFG (Center de Liaison des Associations F\u00e9minines Genevoises) and the AGFDU (Geneva Association of University Women), highlighting  the fascinating figure of Caroline Boissier-Butini (1786-1836), Genevan pianist and composer of the 19th century. <br \/>Excerpts from Concerto No. 3 for piano by Miaomiao Li, professor at the Geneva Conservatory of Music, accompanied this presentation.<\/p>\n<p>This event was followed by a magnificent concert  at the Victoria Hall in Geneva on the occasion of International Women\u2019s Day girl  organized by CLAFG and AGFDU: <em> \u201cCompositrices en lumi\u00e8re\u201d <\/em>by the Orchestra of Nations, under the direction of Antoine Marguier and Silvina Peruglia.
