How BFWG Members celebrated International Women’s Day

Many Local Associations held special events , for example  the Canterbury Association held  a successful Coffee Morning in Christel Moor’s house with the proceeds going to the BFWG Scholarship Fund.

The Worcestershire Association held a ver6y successful Coffee Morning and Bring & Buy to raise funds for their annual Award for Excellence to a female first year undergraduate at the Uniuversity of Worcester.

The Swansea Association held a Celebration Lunch when EmmaWest, doctoral student at Cardiff Uniuversity was presented with the E. W. Vanstone Scholarship Award by Dr. Elizabeth Poskitt of the BFWG Scholarhsip Committee.

Huddersfield LA: members saw a play at the Lawrence Bailey Theatre ‘Wrong un’- Suffragette Story and went to an event in the Town Hall to hear Katie Adie in conversation with Alison Fell about her work as war reporter and her book Fighting on the Home Front.
 
Lincoln AWG organised a Soup Lunch on Saturday 8 March 2014 to celebrate Women’s International Day at Elizabeth Walker’s house and £250 was raised. £100 will go towards the Bursary for a deserving student at Bishop Grosseteste University.
