This joint event is held every year with presentations taking place in the morning. The winner speaks after lunch.
The short annual North West meeting is for BFWG members only so others are free to go at 3.15 pm.

We want to stress that the emphasis on the competitors’ presentations is how well they can explain what
may be a complex research topic to people who may have no knowledge of it. The great art, especially for
anything scientific, is to be able to make people appreciate why so much work is being undertaken and why it is
worthwhile and interesting.

Once again we are offering a concessionary fee of £15 for any guest of a BFWG member or member of the
general public, say from U3A. However, to help cover costs we are keeping the £25 fee for members of the
Federation. Both fees are, of course, all-inclusive.
